What is MT20?

The Malaysia T20 League (MT20) is a new professional franchise cricket league scheduled to debut in September–October 2026. It's being developed by the Innovative Production Group (IPG), in partnership with the Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA).

What makes MT20 different

Cricket doesn't only live in India, England, or Australia. MT20 is being built as a home-grown franchise league for a region of over 700 million people that has never had one.

  • Franchise teams

Real ownership groups, real city identities, and rivalries still to be written.

  • International star power

Early conversations already span England, Australia, India, South Africa, Nepal, and Namibia.

  • World-class production

Global broadcast and streaming distribution reaching fans across Asia, North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

  • Backing that matters

Run in partnership with the Malaysian Cricket Association, an ICC associate member since 1967, and produced by the team behind the Lanka Premier League.

Powered by IPG Group

MT20 is being developed by the IPG Group as part of a wider project to grow franchise cricket and give young players new stages to be seen on.

  • Founder Anil Mohan founded and leads the IPG Group.
  • Track record IPG is the group behind the Lanka Premier League.
  • Expansion Alongside Malaysia, IPG is also developing a new franchise T20 league in Zimbabwe.
  • Mission Promoting cricket and sport across new countries, with young athletes at the center.
